ZINGARI RISTORANTE
This is the cutest restaurant ever! I love italian food so I was very excited to try this place out. The occasion: Jane's Birthday! Yay!! I will try to upload the one picture we took when I get it from her next time.
I got there around 6pm after work. Jane was already there. I bussed it and finally walked the 4 blocks to Post and Mason. This restaurant is in the Donatello hotel it looks like. Very posh!
The owner or manager named Christian, he was fabulous. I loved him! He's very friendly with all his guests and one of those "I like to chat with everyone because I love everyone" type of guy.
At the bar, Jane and I had a glass of wine. I don't know anything about wine so I couldn't tell you how great it was or how bad it was. All I know is that it was hot yesterday, I had to walk hauling a laptop, so my refreshingly cold glass of the white house wine was fabulous! We also tried the bruchetta and the Fritto Misto which was fried calamari and yellow onions. Both are very good appetizers. Btw, happy hours are from 4:30 - 7pm with 50% off appetizers!
For dinner, I had just a main course since I was full from the appetizers. I had the Spaghettini, Alio, Olio, Pomodoro e Basilco - which according to the menu is spaghetti with fresh roasted plum tomatoes and basil & garlic marinara sauce. It was excellent.
All in all - loved the restaurant - would go there more often if I was closer to it!! :)
Happy Birthday Janey!
