Today, I was contemplating on whether or not I really wanted to try and make Jambalaya. I LOVE Jambalaya from CPK. When I go there, its the only thing I eat - that and maybe some of the caesar salad and the BBQ pizza. In any case, its delicious. And after having gone to Celestine in Downtown Sac for some Cajun food last week, I guess I really wanted to eat some more.
So I went to the store and bought $44 worth of colorful bell peppers and a crapload of spices. Came home and 1.5 hours later ... Waaalaah !~ (with the chopsticks on the side - I am Korean after all)
My dad got a kick out of it - he loved it. He said "never thought I'd eat this kind of food before" - of course he said that in Korean and I'm just translating. He wanted me to pack it up for his lunch tomorrow hahaha.

Anthony Marentino
I was watching Sex and the City ( as usual ) and I really started to think how much I would insanely enjoy a good gay friend like Anthony Marentino.
What I really like about him:
So blunt and totally get away with it. Absolutely outspoken and never afraid to speak his mind. Loves to dish about cute guys and relationships. Has awesome style and can gush about a Vera Wang dress. Can plan weddings perfectly. He's a gets-what-he-wants kind of person.
"We want candles, candles, candles. And I don't want short, stubby, broken up dick candles. I want long tapers. "

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies
I was quite excited to read this book for a while now. It is considered one of New York Time's bestseller. It was amusing to say the least. However, I prefer the original Jane Austen novel.
Why do women fall in love with Mr. Darcy? Is it because Colin Firth is the most absolutely amazingly handsome Mr. Darcy? While I do agree with the latter, the first question is most intriguing. Darcy's character is one of arrogance, aloof mannerism. He's so arrogant that he completely dismisses Elizabeth Bennet who turned out to be the love of his life.
Yet, deep down inside we find out that he generous and true loyalty and good nature of Mr. Darcy. Isn't that the kind of perfect man that women want to fall in love with every day? Jane Austen is a genius. At first glance, you're so intrigued because he's so damn handsome, so unattainable, rich, arrogant and deliciously mysterious.
You sort of hate him for his arrogance and his complete refusal to speak to you because you're a normal girl. But then, you start to see other sides of him - his conversations are intriguing because he's intelligent. He's not some silly young man that you exchange comical banters with but can speak to your heart and mind.
Hum ... Oh Mr. Darcy!
I found this quote early on the book very funny. Charlotte, Elizabeth's friend gives her advice about marriage at the very first ball in the book:
"Happiness in marriage is entirely a matter of chance, and it is better to know as little as possible of the defects of the person with whom you are to pass your life."

Dear John
You are soo stupid John for letting her go like that. You are also sooo generous for giving up your father's cherished collection to give to her dying husband. But dude, get real!
I am way too selfish to just let things go if I want them and knew I could get them. Which is funny because I've been filling out these online "tests" (you know, those tests you take just for fun to see some personality trait), that I was generous and kind. I guess not because well ... seriously ... what about my life?
John is now going around life just missing the one true love of his life, not knowing what to do, so just most likely going back to the army to die in some battle. Can you really live life on some satisfaction that you did the right thing, you did something awesome for that one thing, the one person you loved above all?
Yeah, I'm sorry ... what about my life? What about all the happiness that I worked so hard for? I didn't work this hard to just give it up and let myself be a wanderer with no point to my life. Well knowing me, IF I had done something stupid like that, I would have made sure to find another passion in life or else just shoot myself in the head.
Also, how the hell do you fall so deeply in love with someone after 2 weeks of some hang time? So unrealistic!
Boy ... what an interesting mood I am in tonight!
